The Journey to Un'Goro expansion is now well underway in Hearthstone, and we've been extremely busy over the last few weeks making sure we've got every emerging deck archetype covered on the site! From deck lists to guides, you should be able to find just about everything you need on the site.
On this particularp page, you'll be able to get your hands on all of the top tier decks for each of the nine heroes in the game. Every class got a new Quest card to play with in the expansion, and from here you'll find a comprehensive guide to playing pro player decks associated with each one.
There are more than just these signature decks to play with in these early days as well. Pirate Warrior, Midrange Hunter and others are all enjoying highly competitive play right now - particularly handy if you're short on cash and can't afford to open a great deal of packs.
Although we've covered a lot of ground since the beginning of this month when Un'Goro arrived, do keep in mind that this page is a work in progress, and we're constantly adding new articles to this hub. It's a good idea to keep this page bookmarked, as you'll find new decks added to this guide every day.
Update #5 - Now that things have calmed down a little, we've been able to collate all of the decks that are proving competitive in the Un'Goro metagame. There are a few minor areas to be covered, but you should find this page a great resource for getting started with the top 20 or so decks that are currently being played by the pros. We'll have another update for you shortly, once we've finished writing the rest of our deck guides.
Before we start with the decks themselves, just keep in mind that we are now in the Year of the Mammoth, which means you can only make use of cards from the following sets (unless you're exploring the Wild format, of course):
- Whispers of the Old Gods
- One Night in Karazhan
- Mean Streets of Gadgetzan
Note that when 2017's remaining two expansions are released, they will be added to this list.
As with all new Hearthstone expansion it's very important to exercise caution when it comes to spending your crafting dust. There is almost always a handful of cards that get hyped based on theory, but end up being rather underwhelming in the live game! A little patience can go a long way here...
This round-up of the best Standard Un'Goro decks will undergo a great deal of revision in the early days of the expansion, before settling down once a few weeks of live play are behind us all.
(If you're a bit short on funds by the way, make sure you take a look at our list of budget Un'Goro decks. There should be something to help you get going in there).
Druid Un'Goro decks
Aggro Token Druid is a particularly strong option for the hero rigth now, although Jade and Ramp Druids are other viable options. Sadly, it looks as though the Druid's Quest deck is going to do too well going forwards, although we include it here for the sake of completion.
Hunter Un'Goro decks
Midrange Hunter is probably the hero's strongest deck in the current metagame, although Face Hunter is both cheap and relatively comeptitive right now. We've not been that impressed with Quest Hunter in comparison, but it's definitely worth playing around with if you got the cards!
Mage Un'Goro decks
It's all a little middling for Mage decks right now, although Freeze Mage and Aggro Burn Mage both provide a decent way of climbing the ladder. Quest, Tempo and Elemental Mage are also viable - if less competitive - alternatives too.
Paladin Un'Goro decks
The Paladni Quest deck is almost certainly a duff, but there's better news for Midrange and Murloc Paladin. Control Paladin's another strong choice, and we'll updating the site shortly with a deck list built around Holy Wrath - watch this space!
Priest Un'Goro decks
While the Priest's fortunes looked incredibly bad just a couple of weeks ago, things are looking up for this hero thanks to the refinement of both Dragon Priest and Silence Priest! Control's a good option too, and we'll be updating our old guide for this archetype in the next few days.
Rogue Un'Goro decks
The Rogue's Caverns Below card is looking very tasty indeed, and can help you wrap up matches in mere minutes. You do need a taste for juggling combos, but our guide will simplify things for you a great deal. Miracle's not got any simpler to play, but represents another powerful deck right now
Shaman Un'Goro decks
Elemental and Token Shaman decks look pretty strong right now, although it's disappointing to see rather poor performance from the new Quest-fuelled Murloc deck. Still, we include it here for the sake of being thorough!
Warlock Un'Goro decks
A new version of Handlock and an empowered take on Zoo are your best options for the Warlock in the current metagame. As fun as the Quest deck is, it just doesn't appear to do anything special, quickly enough.
Warrior Un'Goro decks
Pirate Warrior is still king in Hearthstone, but the Taunt Warrior deck built around the hero's new Quest card is well worth playing if you were lucky with your pack openings.
