Aggro Rogue deck list guide - September 2017 - Hearthstone

How to play the latest version of Aggro Rogue on the Hearthstone ladder.

Our Aggro Rogue deck guide features the best deck list for Season 42, with Mulligan advice, strategy tips, combos and synergies.

Aggro Rogue is a Hearthstone deck that's focused on delivering huge amounts of burst damage, thanks to the kind of combo cards that are the class's signature tools. Like many aggro decks right now, it also takes advantage of Prince Keleseth to give typically low-stat minions a much faster - not to mention more resilient - start.

In our guide to playing this incredibly powerful deck, we've highlighted one of the most popular deck lists in play right now, and also provided some Mulligan tips to make sure you start each match the right way. After that you'll find a list of all the combos that are contained in this version of Aggro Rogue. Study these carefully before you play this deck, as it's one of the more precise aggro decks in circulation - just as you'd expect from Rogue.

Aggro Rogue deck list and strategy

The deck list we're highlighting was created by kuyayo, and it was inspired by the Royalty Rogue format that's been gaining popularity in recent days.

The fundamental strategy behind this Aggro Rogue deck is pretty simple to wrap your head around, but it does require you to plan ahead a fair bit so you can deliver the extreme burst damage that's so important for a solid climb.

In very simple terms, you want to do whatever damage you can in the early game, but focus on setting up your Stealthed minions for huge buffs from the likes of Shadow Sensei, Bonemare, Cobalt Scalebane and Cold Blood.

A key card from the Frozen Throne set is Prince Keleseth. Because this deck runs not a single two-cost card, every minion left in your deck gains an extra +1/+1 of stats after this minion's been put out. Imagine playing that card on Turn 2, then following up with Shadowstep, then playing the minion again, for example - it's not an easy move to pull off, but it effectively wins you the game right there and then.

Prince Keleseth is such a core component of this deck that you should hold onto him in every single match-up - no exceptions.

If you don't have him, then solid keeps for aggro matches are pretty obvious: Fire Fly, Swashburglar and Southsea Deckhand are no-brainers. If you have Backstab and/or The Coin, SI:7 Agent will also provide you with an important tempo swing.

Control match-ups are your toughest start and you really need to dig for that Prince Keleseth, otherwise your low-Health minions are going to be in a lot of trouble.

Aggro Rogue tips, combos and synergies

All aggro decks demand that you get every last drop of power from each play you make, so as to reach the end of the match faster. Aggro Rogue is no exception, so make sure you brush up on the following combos before you take this deck to the ladder.

- The vanilla version of Cold Blood gives a friendly minion 2 extra points of Attack, but if you can play another card first on the same turn, that value is increased to 4.

- When Swashburglar is played onto the board, a random card from your opponent's class will be added to your hand. Take a bit of time to study how this random selection might fit into the next turn or two.

- Whenever Shaku, the Collector makes an attack, you'll likewise receive a bonus card from the enemy's class.

- Jungle Panther, Shadow Rager and Shaku, the Collector can be buffed up significantly by Shadow Sensei. Think carefully before revealing one of these Stealthed minions before they've been enhanced.

- If you play another card on the same turn first, Vilespine Slayer can be used to eliminate the enemy minion target of your choice.

- Assuming Patches the Pirate is still sitting somewhere in your deckpile, any other Pirate you play will add him onto the board for free. Make sure you take advantage of the extra Attack damage when he appears!

- Southsea Deckhand can only attack on the same turn he's played if you have a weapon in your hand. Think very carefully before spending that last charge of your dagger.

- Prince Keleseth is the cornerstone of this deck, and the earlier you play him the better. Once placed onto the board, every minion remaining in your deck gains an extra +1 / +1 of stats.

- Bonemare can be used to turn any minion into a solid Taunt with an extra +4 / +4 of stats. That protects the Bonemare's 5/5 body nicely too!
